Three disciplines,one quiet room.
Silk & Spine exists because scalp tension, muscle tension and damaged hair are often the same story, and almost nobody treats all three in the same appointment.
A headache neither of us could fix alone
Mira Sato trained for nine years in traditional Chinese head spa technique, scalp massage rooted in acupressure and meridian theory, learning to read tension and choose a treatment from what she found. Then she took an agency job, sat at a monitor for eleven months, and developed the worst tension headaches of her life. Nothing she knew how to do reached them.
Adam Reyes was a licensed massage therapist running corporate chair clinics across the area. He could release a neck in twenty minutes. It came back by Thursday, every time, in every office.
They met comparing notes on the same problem from opposite ends of it. The scalp, the neck, and the whole upper body: one continuous chain, treated by two professions that never talk. Silk & Spine opened its doors in Wakefield in autumn 2019 to treat the whole chain, and the hair along with it, in one appointment.
Give people back the hour their day takes out of their body, and send them home able to keep it.
Every treatment ends with something you can do without us: a drill, a stretch, a small change to your daily routine. We would rather you came monthly and felt good in between than weekly because nothing held.
What you will not find down the street
A scalp and meridian reading before anything is decided
We check sebum load, scalp condition, flaking and circulation by hand and by eye. You hear what the therapist finds and the protocol is built from what is actually there. We check again at visit four so progress is visible rather than claimed.
One therapist for the whole session
Nobody swaps rooms halfway through. Every therapist here holds both a massage licence and traditional Chinese scalp therapy certification, which is why the combo treatment flows instead of feeling like two appointments stapled together.
Protocols built for this neighborhood, not a spa brochure
Forward head carriage, a tight mid-back, jaw clenching, hair stressed by heat tools and hard water. These are the patterns we see in this community, so these are the patterns the treatments are built around.
Nothing is sold at the table
Product recommendations, if there are any, arrive by email the next day with the reasoning attached, and half the time it is a drugstore shampoo. Therapists here are not on commission.
Two treatment rooms, never more
The studio takes eight guests a day. No music with lyrics, no reception chatter through the wall, phones locked in the cabinet at the door if you want them to be.
You leave with homework that takes five minutes
One drill, one stretch, one adjustment to your desk. Filmed on your own phone before you go, so you actually remember what it looked like.
Eight therapists. One standard.
Every member of the team holds a state massage licence and completes forty hours of traditional Chinese scalp-therapy training in-house before taking a guest.

Take one of the two rooms
Ninety minutes, a scalp reading you get to keep, and a therapist who will still be in the room at the end of it.
